FROM THE DIRECTOR'S DESK

Established in Section 13, Shah Alam, the capital city of Malaysia’s most developed state, Selangor, Al-Ikhlas has grown to become one of Shah Alam’s most recognized and diversified Language schools. City Centre Mall at the heart of Shah Alam’s business district. Learning English at Al-Ikhlas Cambridge is completely self sustaining. The focus is on grammar, the foundation of the language, and the literacy skills of reading and writing. Our methodology also draws learners into lively discussion on how to correct “Broken English” often used by our learners. Learners are given a boost on how to enrich the quality, beauty and variety of English in communication. The dos and don’ts of effective communication are also made clear. The texts given to our learners highlight the receptive skill of reading. Ways and means of improving reading and thinking skills are grappled with exhaustively, so that the learners’ ability to understand whatever material is read in English improves immensely.

The essential rudiments of basic grammar and its usage are often discussed in our lessons. This is in tandem with the tenet that English is mastered by learning its grammar and using the language to communicate in meaningful situations. This approach is especially suitable for our learners, both Malaysian and foreign who are largely non-native speakers of English. Having no intuitive knowledge of the language to fall back on, they have to rely on guidelines to help them communicate correctly, effectively and appropriately. The vital productive skill of writing is examined systematically as well. After touching on sentence structure, the learners will

be exposed to the finer skills of writing correctly and effectively. To make our Language courses more relevant and effective, our trainers are qualified TESL graduates with years of experience in the training industry.
