English For Young Learners Children are encouraged to learn proper English at an early age. We offer the Young Learners English course which is a series of three levels for children in the age range of 7 to 12. The courses are designed for children of all nationalities, whatever their first language. The material is intended to be relevant and interesting to everyone. The course is designed to be accessible and interesting, and prepare students for the Cambridge Young Learners English tests. The tests carry no pass or fail grades; they provide every student with a reward for his or her efforts. Young Learners English (YLE) is a reliable and consistent measure of how well your child is doing in the skills of listening, speaking and reading and writing. Tests are designed to make learning fun and children are encouraged by working towards certificates and earning the 'shields' that record their progress. The assessment aims of the Cambridge EFL YLE Course and its syllabus are to give a comprehensive picture of the learner’s overall level of English. The syllabus draws on the kinds of topics and activities which are familiar to children. The three levels for children to work through are Starters, Movers and Flyers. Starters being the first, aims at young children with very basic skills. As children develop and work their way up to the Flyers certificate, they reach a level that will enable them to aim for the Key English Test (KET) or the Preliminary English Test (PET) in our General English range of certificates — qualifications which will be of value for further study or in the workplace.
