About UCLES

The University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES) was established as a department of the University of Cambridge in 1858, and is one of the world's leading education assessment agencies. It has been administering examinations in English as a Foreign Language since 1913 and today offers a wide range of examinations and services including specialised examinations in Business English, English for Academic Purposes and English for Young learners, as well as certificates and diplomas for language teachers.
